LSU- Ole Miss Game

We had a fun invitation to joint the Getz family as they ventured to Oxford MS for the LSU/ Ole miss game. Their son will be attending and playing golf win the fall. We had a very memorable time showing our AZ friends how we do football back South and catching up with Laurel and Philips. We stayed at our friends new hotel in Oxford, groved with friends, bore witness to a terrible defeat by the Rebels and returned home on Sunday to the kiddos who were back home with Carmen for the weekend. We succeeded in acting well below are maturity levels and showing our AZ friends how amazing chicken on a stick at the Chevron is, especially on the way home from Proud Larry's.

Ran into one of Andrew's cousins, Sam and his girlfriend.

A quick hello to another one of Andrew's cousins, Betsy.

Little welcome present at the suite we were in. I was clearly outnumbered.

Coming home to Carmen and the children with welcome sign and LSU spirit despite our loss.

Back home in August

We had an earlier return in August so that we could prep the house for showing and get back to the closing of our new home on Cholla. Davis and dad took a quick trip to Coronado with our discussion group while I stayed back with Grace. He had a great time with the Mooney kids and driving the boat with Mr. Edson.

Coeur D'Alene for the Fourth

A few days after we arrived at Mom and Dad's for the summer, Andrew and I departed for Coeur d'Alene to visit Lyndsay and Ben's lake house. We treasure their friendship and were happy to spend some adult time with them, although they love on our children so well. They have a cute cottage downtown so it was nice to walk to coffee and drinks.  We enjoyed time on the lake with some of their dear friends as well as friends from AZ too. I headed back to the kids in California, tan and somewhat rested, while Andrew flew back to AZ. Love the Hayes and don't blame them for not coming back to AZ until October!

We drove for an hour up the river and hiked to a good spot to relax.

The boys did a little casual fly fishing. Ben did teach me a bit too.

And once again, he's "not tired."

Grace's stellar yoga-ish dance move during one of our dance parties.

And Uncle Jeff was back in town for work and we got a super short but sweet visit in.

VBS is one of his favorite weeks at school and this is her 'I'm not smiling' smile, with arms crossed of course.

And while brother rides his bike like a crazy man, she sits and picks flowers.

These two.

And when we go down steps she goes dead leg on us.

Evening with the Macs

We always have a last get together with the MacLachlin Family to say goodbye for the summer.  We enjoyed an evening of splashing around at Scottsdale Quarter before grabbing pizza and fro-yo. We'll all be in California for the summer although hours apart catching up with our own families and will not see each other until August when school returns and they're a few inches taller and Makena is 5.

And look at those littles!
