Thanksgiving

This year was our first family Thanksgiving. We decided to stay home in anticipation of our crazy Christmas travels quickly approaching. We spent the morning visiting with friends at the Williams house and came home for lunch and naps for the kids. Andrew and I prepared the meal of Turkey, oyster dressing, green beans, sweet potatoes, rolls and pecan pie. Grace even enjoyed a little sweet potatoes. We did have enough turkey to a leftover turkey gumbo too. We drank wine outside by the fire and had a wonderfully relaxing evening. It was sweet to sit at the table with our family of four. So much to be thankful for indeed!

Around our home in November

November was a busy month but we did seem to capture some quiet moments here and there. I love seeing the children interact with eachother. Grace is developing more personality and Davis feeds off of this. I celebrated another birthday (missed my sis) and Andrew and I celebrated with a very nice dinner out with some shopping too. That weekend, Andrew played in the member-member with Parker and won. That Saturday I enjoyed a day at Junk in the Trunk Vintage market with girlfriends. We shopped for 4 hours before packing up both cars and enjoying a nice lunch together. Life's been very good.

Baby Grace: 8 Months

You continue to rock on all fours and can maneuver to wherever you wish. You accomplish this by rolling, pushing and pulling on your belly. You can army crawl on forearms better than I. You continue to sit up but have not done so in your crib. You can pull to stand with assistance. You are eating well but take your time due to your reflux. You love sweet potatoes and pears the most. You are reaching for most of our food so I’m getting anxious to try finger foods next month. You have your 2 bottom teeth now and your smile shows them off so well. You are babbling more and more saying mama and dada. You know who “brother” is and start kicking your legs when you hear him playing in the other room.  You love his constant activity but also enjoy reading books on the floor with mama or sitting on the couch watching football with dad. You are waving with full arm and mimicking. You remain flexible in your schedule and enjoy the daily activities with Davis.  Already, you two have a special relationship and for that we are so very grateful.
