Baby Grace: 6 Months

You are home from your summer travels now and are back to sleeping through the night. You love taking naps in your cozy bed and immediately start closing your eyes when we put your sound machine on and hand you your lovey. You fall asleep on your own even if you are wide eyed when we put you down. Still no teeth but you’re working on it. Everything goes in the mouth.  When I tell Davis to share a toy that you’re eyeing, he says “but I don’t want her to eat it.” You are eating every four hours and are preparing for solids in the next few weeks. You are spinning around on your belly and scooting too. You are good at maneuvering to whatever catches your eye. You can sit up on your own for a couple of seconds before you’re on to the next task. You are a great sister to Davis and make him feel so special with your babbling to him and constant attention to his dancing, bike riding or guitar playing.  You are his favorite audience. He is sensitive to you and does not like to see you fuss. Already you are responding to signing and get very excited about “milk” by reaching your arms out with open mouth. You continue to be complimented about your blue eyes and resemble your dad so much. You continue to keep a cool temperament and are not bothered by much even if that means the cold water of the Baptismal font. You met your uncles William and Tim this month and had a great second visit with tante Allyson. They’ll make sure you keep that cool temperament. You babble and sing and I love the noise you make but you melt my heart when you say “mama” even if you’re not really calling for me. Happy Half Birthday Sweet Grace.
