Baby Grace: ONE month

You are such a trooper your first week, having your heel pricked each day for jaundice. You enjoyed sunbathing in your window and fell asleep quickly. You sleep through your brother's running and hollering and fail to be startled easily. You do not like having your diaper changed but if we place our cheek next to yours, you calm easily. You are a very efficient eater and let us know you’re hungry by snorting. Your hair is a beautiful blonde like your dad’s when he was a baby. You lost some weight early on but quickly gained it back. You like walks in your bassinet and napping in your bouncer. You have slept through music, swim and gym class without a problem.  You’ve had so many family visitors, Mimi and Pops, Grandmother, Uncle Jeff and Tante- who visited all the way from Africa.

Weight: 11.4
Diaper: size 1
Milestones: smiling, taking a bottle

Easter & more visits

The morning Grandmother Jean left, my sister, "tante", and brother Jeff flew in the same evening. I am very touched that they made the haul, Jeff with his busy schedule and expecting wife and Allyson, all the way from Africa. We had a relaxing Easter weekend. The Easter bunny came leaving treats for all, even the big kids. Davis received lots of goodies and for the first time candy. He still isn't into the candy. He enjoyed the little toys more. We cooked a simple brunch of quiche, roasted potatoes, berry fruit salad and monkey bread. Ben and Lyndsay joined us and kept Davis entertained with his Easter happy, water guns. Uncle Jeff kept Davis busy painting Easter eggs while Allyson and I cooked. Grace was sleeping most the time in her bouncer or on the shoulder of someone. Jeff left Easter evening to head back to Nor Cal and Tante stayed on for another week. She so easily joined in our activities, music, swim etc. She cooked for us which included lessons for Davis in granola and guacamole cooking. She was even so gracious as to help with Davis potty training. Yes, came all the way from Africa to wipe pee off the floor. I am so thankful for her time here with us and traveling to see us from so far. It was sad seeing her go Saturday morning. We are hoping the tide brings her back stateside despite her plans to stay abroad longer. Davis had so much fun playing with her especially "safari" outside and Grace could have slept on her for days.
